1 lb ground beef, 90% lean
1 large onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp chili powder
1 can, black beans, drained
1 can, crushed tomatoes (fire roasted if available)
- Brown the beef, and drain in a colander.
- Using the same pan, saute diced onion in beef fat, adding minced garlic when the onion softens.
- Return beef to the pot, and add chili powder. Stir and let the chili fry a bit.
- Add beans and tomatoes, and let simmer for an hour of so.
- Optionally, add minced jalapeno, bell pepper, pinch of cinnamon, cayenne pepper. Serve with chips or pasta or something.
