Pan-seared steak

2 8-oz rib eye steaks
3 tbsp butter
3 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp parsley
Canola oil

  1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Mix parsley, garlic, a dash of salt, and softened butter. Melt the butter mixture over low heat.
  2. Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper. Place a skillet over high heat, filming the bottom with oil when hot. Sear the steak until browned on one side (4-6 minutes).
  3. Turn the steak and brush the top with the butter mixture. Place into the oven and cook until done. (Roughly 4-5 minutes. The meat will continue to cook, so remove it from the oven when slightly less done than you wish.)
  4. Pour remaining butter and any pan juices over the meat and let it stand for several minutes before serving.
