Cheesecake brownies

1 stick unsalted butter
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine chocolate and butter in saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until just melted.
  2. Transfer mixture to bowl, and stir in sugar, eggs, flour, and vanilla. Add a pinch of salt, and stir until flour is incorporated.
  3. Whisk together cheesecake ingredients in a small bowl until smooth, and dollop over brownie batter. Swirl in with a knife or spatula. Sprinkle chocolate chips on.
  4. Pour into greased 8×8 baking pan and bake 35 minutes. Chill before cutting, and serve chilled.
